Flame start is different to glow plugs in that it is basically direct injection & all you are doing is warming the intake air to make starting easier. Glow plugs mean the engine is indirect injection & will rarely start if they do not operate. Subscribers do not see these advertisements.
Hello i'm searching for a damos or a solution to do glow plug strategy off on my car, it's a ford fiesta 1.4 tdci 68 hp with siemens Sid 804. I have dtc P1684 and i've changed the glows plugs, the glow plug relay, check the wires, try another ecu and nothing change.

You should see continuity from four of the connectors on the relay socket to the four glow plug connectors on the plugs themselves: Plug 1 (UK driver's side of engine) Brown wire. Pin 1 of Relay. Plug 2 Red wire Pin 2 of Relay. Plug 3 Yellow Wire Pin 3 of Relay. Plug 4 (Air Filter side of engine) Green Wire Pin 4 of Relay.

When the garage tested my glow plug they used a massive multimeter to test the current draw of said plug. I forget the exact amount of amps, but it was around 25 if I remember rightly, which they said was fine. A normal test meter isn't up to the job because of the massive currents involved, it needs a special meter.
May 15, 2020. #1. I'm trying to clear the engine warning light 'check glow plugs'. The engine has started readily throught out the winter and continues to do so without problem even though the 'check glow plugs' light illuminates at most engine starts. the crossland filter if cheap probably doesn't come with a water in fuel sensor, ive fitted a few and usually swap the sensor off my original expensive one over to the cheap replacement that will come with a plastic screw at the bottom. its the metal cartridge with quick fit connections, a drip of fuel on the pipes to lubricate the orings inside wouldn't go a miss and make sure the connections

Either leave it there .. millions of engines around the world with snapped glow plugs in them.! or .. It should be the same as the peugeot cars .. no need to move the pump take of the two adjacent injector pipes and find a 12mm cranked ring spanner to fit. Use a magnet to catch the 8mm nut on the wire.
